I haven't heard anything about which colors to avoid. I have a complete rainbow pattern across my chute do I have just about every color. The best thing to do is to minimize the exposure to the sun when not flying. Bag the chute, or at least cover it up. What damages the chute is UV exposure, and I don't think that is affected by color. But, I could be wrong.
Does anybody know of any upcoming Aviation Safety Seminars and other non-flying events? Usually most of these happen in the winter time. These are usually good events to visit not only to freshen up on a few things, but to meet some friends, make new friends, and at some, even win a few prizes.

The only one I know of is the Illinois Ultralight and Light Sport Safety Seminar that is usually in the end of February in Springfield, Ill. Anybody got a date for 2011 on this?
I would like to remind everybody in check their Airworthiness Certificate for issue MONTH. The month of issue will indicate when you need to have your aircraft registration renewed. Here is a link with some information about this process:

http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/regulatory/reregistration.html

If your airworthiness certificate was issued between March and June, any year, then you will need to reregister your aircraft in 2011 (certificates issued in March, like mine, have until March 21 2011 to get done). July through October in 2012, and November through February in 2013.

So check the month of issue of your airworthiness certificate and expect a notice 3 to 6 months before your deadline. If you do not receive a notice by 90 days before your expiration date then contact the FAA immediately.

If you registration information is current, the entire process takes minutes online and costs $5.

Bob, it's a HAPPY day. I'm still a private pilot and only temporarily removed from the the ranks of PPC pilots. The good news is I'm one step closer to a brand new machine in the future!
